A Poem by Heather
Heather Rose
His stare burned a hole through the wall of torment.
She saw into the ice of blue and shuddered to think away the feeling.
He was close and the heat waltzed in and out of time.
She grinned in spite of the chill that swallowed her heart.
He held onto her in an escape from the way they were.
She breathed him forth and fought for sanity.
He paced with her and rocked to love's hidden verse.
They found their way to the peak and looked below at the reality coming forward.
Closing his eyes, he gripped her warmth and tucked it away.
Closing her eyes, she molded his smell and locked it inside.
Together, they were bound.
If not for a moment, they were the same.
If not for a second, they knew.
